Arthur Edward Ballard, 61, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1953 at San Fernando, California. He was born April 29, 1891 at Weber, Kansas. His marriage to Ethel McMillan was solemnized at Edgar, Nebraska on March 29, 1911. They came to Wyoming and homesteaded north of Douglas, later moving into Douglas where they made their home until 1943 when they moved to San Fernando. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Forest of San Fernando and Dale of Esterbrook; a brother, D. W. Ballard of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Lee Smiley of Stockton, Calif. and three grandchildren. Two children preceded him in death; a son, Kenneth, who died in Kansas at the age of 16 months and a daughter, Mary Ann, who passed away in Douglas when 20 years of age.
