BEULAVILLE - Verney J. Gurganus, 88, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Craven Regional Medical Center.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at Community Funeral Home Chapel.

He is survived by his wife, Evona J. Gurganus of Beulaville; two daughters, Marlene Edwards of Lumberton and Linda Rich of Wallace; one son, Jerry Gurganus of New Bern; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Community Funeral Home.
