Mrs. Lydia Jane Gump, 69, wife of Albert N. Gump, a well known woman residing just east of Churubusco died at her home Friday evening at 7 o'clock after an illness of two months, death being due to a complication of diseases. The husband and four sons and a daughter survive. The children are Charles O., Merle E., and Roy B., all of Churubusco and Leslie W. of Cedar Springs, Mich., and Mrs. Floyd Shively of Greenfield, Ind. Other surviving relatives are a number of half brothers and sisters. The deceased was a native of Hancock County, Ohio. She was born May 1, 1860. Mrs. Gump was a devout member of the church of the Brethren. Rev. Winger, president of Manchester College will officiate at funeral services to be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Pleasant Hill church. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery near Huntertown. -Columbia City Post, February 2, 1930
