Nellie Ruth Ward "Aunt Nellie" Hawkins, 76, passed away at Cedar Crest Nursing Home Wednesday, October 29, 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 1, 2003 at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetary. Visitation will be held Friday October 31, 2003 from 5 pm until 7 pm at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Blue Hawkins; her parents Ira Vernon Ward and Mabel Moore Ward; and her brothers, Claude K. Ward, Wiley E. Ward, and James Perry Ward.
She is survived by her sisters, Mildred Trammell and Mary Edna (Roger) Smith and brothers, Robert Vernon Ward, William Henry (Lanette) Ward, Joel Thomas (Jayne) Ward and Marion Edward (Sherry) Ward.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Smith, Hayden Ward, Kenny Ward, Marvin Ward, and Charles Ira Ward. Honarary pallbearers will be other nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to express special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Malcomb Brown, and the staff of Odyssey Hospice and Cedar Crest Nursing Home.
