Some family trees have her death date as Sep 15, 1933. I used Sep. 17, 1932, which was transcribed by JANICE McCOY on April 19, 1999. Now with her obituary her death date is confirmed. Hopefully I will soon be able to obtain a photo of her headstone.

Mother of Local i Residents Buried at Sharon

Mrs. Pennyann Hicks, age 78 widow of the late W. H. Hicks of this place died in a Jackson hospital last Friday morning.

She is survived by the following relatives: daughter, Mrs. Kiley Thames, of Mendenhall, one son, W. L. Hicks, Mendenhall; three granddaughters whom she had reared from infancy, Mrs. Bertha Lyon and Mrs. Pallie Westmoreland, Mendenhall and Mrs. Pearlie Mahaffey, of D'Lo. She also leaves two brothers, William and Cooper Mangum, of Magee.

Burial was at Sharon cemetery, four miles east of Magee, with the Rev. C. C. Jones, of Mendenhall, in charge of the rights. Mims Mitchell Funral (sic Funeral) Home, of Magee, had charge of burial arrangements.
