Surviving are one son, Rick Merritt of Cumming Ga, twin daughters, Constance Pilkington of Portland, Oregon, Susan Moynihan of Sanford, Florida
Paul served in the Marine Corps during WWII, June 1944 to June 1945. He fought in the battle of Saipan.
He was a tool designer at Swann Engineering in Davenport, Iowa and also worked for Monarch Engineering Co and Caterpillar Tractor Co. of Peoria, Illinois
He has 5 grandchildren
He enjoyed golf, woodworking, fishing, and designing his own home from the ground up.
