US Ambassador. John George Erhardt was an American Ambassador to South Africa. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and died in Cape Town, South Africa. His body was returned to the United States and interred in the Hamilton College Cemetery, in Clinton, New York. He was a graduate of Hamilton College class of 1915.
