Llewellyn was born in Upper Saucon Township to Owen and Leah (Brunner) Heller. On April 13, 1880 he married Annie Geist at the home of her sister in Allentown. He was a teacher at the Franklin School in Bethlehem but later became an employee of the First National Bank, employed as a book keeper. He then became manager of the Bethlehem Times newspaper, retiring in 1918 due to a nervous breakdown. On July 29, 1923 he leaped out of a third story window at his home and was killed.
