I have a fond place in my heart for Cecelia!

When my great grandmother Elizabeth Barrow Wylde Haring 1859-1887 died from complications of giving birth to my grandfather James Smith Haring III in 1887, Cecelia moved into the home of my great grandfather James Smith Haring Jr. 1855-1922 in order to take care of the newborn James and his older sister Grace Andrews Haring 1885-1899. She selflessly stepped in to take care of these two young children. I found her in the 1892 New York Census living with this family. Her sister had been dead for five years.

My heart went out to her for her selfless help watching over her niece and nephew. I am sure she felt sorrow when their father remarried and moved to Crafton Pennsylvania where Grace caught typhoid fever and died from an outbreak there in 1899! I am sure she loved those children dearly.

Cecelia is a descendant from English Aristocracy. All of her lines lead back to individuals that held titles, position and wealth. There were Members of Parliament, Judges of the Common Plea, Dukes, Viscounts, Barons, Magistrates in all of her direct lines.

Her lineage goes back to King Edward III. Her Wylde lines lead back to the Wylde family of the Commandery in Worcester and she is a direct scion of Viscount Robert Tracy II. Her lines run pure. This is a fact.

But more than any royal heritage is her selfless act for her sister Elizabeth! I owe her a deep gratitude! She stepped in when her dear sister died at the young age of 27. Cecelia will always have a 'fond' place in my heart! I will be forever indebted to her love and devotion to family.

Thank you Great Aunt Cecelia. May you forever rest in peace and fly amongst the Angels above. We will never forget you and will always sing songs of love of appreciation for you.

Signed - Your Grandniece

Cecelia Wylde was the sister of the mother Elizabeth Wylde Haring who had died from complications of giving birth to James Smith Haring 1887. Apparently Cecelia was living with the family in order to take care of the children.
