The son of Edward Bruch and Elsie Schmidt, Wilhelm Johann "Bill" Bruch married Glendola "Glendy" Gaston on 26 May 1937. They were the parents of 2 children.

Bill worked at Carter Carburetor in St. Louis, Missouri. He then was a car inspector for the Terminal Railroad in St. Louis.

As he neared retirement, Bill moved to Golden Eagle, Calhoun County, Illinois and built his own home.

Glendola passed away in 1972.

Children from first marriage: 1 daughter, 1 son.

Bill retired in 1977 and was a member of Moose Lodge in Jerseyville, Jersey County, Illinois. A talented craftsman, he built grandfather clocks for each of his children.

Bill married Mrs. Bernice Catherine (nee Wagner) Rose a few years after both of their spouses had died. The couples had been mutual friends for many years.

Children from second marriage: None.

At the time of his death at Christian Hospital Northeast, William was 83 years, 2 months and 6 days old. He was survived by his second wife, Bernice. Bill was buried on 16 Mar 1998 next to Glendy.

In addition to his first wife and parents, Bill was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Bradley Rose.

Bill's second wife, Bernice, died in 2011.
