Mr. Richardson was born a son of Richard "Dick" Richardson and Bertha McKenzie Richardson on December 22, 1937 in Kingstree, SC.
He was the founder and operator of Ronald's Carpet Installation and was an employee of Georgetown County as a recycle center attendant. He was a faithful member of the Georgetown Church of God where he served in several positions.
Ronald and Doris were married January 4, 1959 and celebrated 51 years together. Their union was blessed with four children: Ronald Richardson, Jr., Timothy Dale (Brenda) Richardson, Penny Lynn Richardson Barnes, and Doris Ann Richardson who passed as a child; seven grandchildren, and three grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Calvin (Nathalee) Richardson and John Richardson; and two sisters, Julia Witska and Leona Rector.
He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter; a son-in-law, Donnie Barnes; three brothers, Daniel Richardson, Joe Richardson, and D.R. Richardson; and one sister, Iva Lee R. Lambert.
A Homegoing Celebration Service will be held at 3 p.m., August 29, 2010, in the Georgetown Church of God with interment in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Georgetown Chapel (843-546-0198).
