CECIL F. PENNINGTON DIES IN MEMPHIS

Cecil Floyd Pennington, aged 65, of Arkadelphia, died Thursday in the Baptist Hospital at Memphis. Mr. Pennington was a salesman for the Railway Communications System. He was a baptist.

He was born July 11, 1909 at Malvern, a son of E.A. Pennington and Mrs. Mattie Borland Pennington. He was a graduate of Arkadelphia High School where he a member of the football team, and he attended Henderson State Teachers College.

Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Earl Pennington of Idabel, Okla., Claude Pennington of Morton, Pa., and Guy Pennington of West Monroe, La.; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Neal of Wichita Falls, Tex., Mrs. Mertis Hicks of Little Rock, and Mrs. Maxine Byers of Buna, Tex.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Macedonia Church near Dalark and burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery by Murry-Ruggles Funeral home.

Cecil was my great uncle, brother to my grandfather. They moved to Idabel, Ok after WW II went into the auto parts business together for a number of years. I vaguely remember him as he always had a smile on his face. He married Viva Naye Hollis 27 Apr 1935 in Hot Springs, AR. They were married a good number of years and later divorced, with no children. She married Wiliam L Myers in California, 1955, and remained there until her death.
