FORMER RESIDENT IS DEAD AT INDIANAPOLIS
John W Taggart, former resident of Decatur county and husband of Charlotte Barnes Taggart, passed away at 2802 Carrolton avenue, according to a message received here.
For a number of years he resided in Greensburg, before locating at Indianapolis. He was employed by the firm of Pulse and Porter at the time of the construction of the Carnegie Public Library here. He was a member of the Spiritual Episcopal church.
His widow, Mrs Charlotte Barnes Taggart, is the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Henry Barnes and lived in this community for many years. She was born and reared in Decatur county.
Besides the widow he is survived by two sons, Carl Taggart and Howard Taggart, of Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs Dorothy Tracy, of Nashville, Ind; two brothers, Tom Taggart, of Shelbyville, and George Taggart, of New Castle.
At the time of his death Mr Taggart was president of the Alkaloid Corp.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Flanner-Buchanan mortuary at Indianapolis. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Union Baptist cemetery, south of Greensburg.
