Mr. Phillips was born September 13, 1939, in Plainview, TX. Bert retired CSM, U. S. Army Reserves, 1997, having earned the Bronze Star for service in Desert Storm. His military career spanned more than 20 years in both the Army and Navy. He retired from the City of Kansas City, MO. Pollution Control in 1995 after 25 years. He had been a leader in Boy Scout Troop 421 and was a honorary member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a member of the Civil War Skirmish Assn. 6th Mo. Vol. Inf. Co. K. Survivors include his wife, Dina "Dee" Rendina Phillips; son, Paul Phillips, New Castle, CO; daughter, and son-in-law, Dana and Chris Ruark, Kansas City, MO; and two grandchildren, Phillip and Elizabeth Ruark; mother, Jackie Hobbs, Pampa, TX; sisters, Fran Daniels, Pampa, TX. and Rosa Wheeler, Amarillo, TX; brothers, Weldon Hobbs, Quanah, TX. and Bob Phillips, Pampa, TX; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ted and Laun Miller, Independence, MO.
