Published in the Olney Times, Thursday, January 3, 1929:
Jacob Newton well known citizen of Decker township passed away at his home near Wynoose Friday evening after an illness of two or three days.
Mr. Newton was eighty years of age and was a familiar figure and well-known in the eastern sections of the county as well as in Olney.
Funeral services were held at Ridge church Monday afternoon wit burial at Ridge cemetery.
