Roe Whitfield, age 87 of Norfork passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. Edward Roe Whitfield was born September 23, 1922 in Paraquet, Arkansas to Allen E. and Hattie (Adams) Whitfield. He married Virga Mae Greer on November 5, 1943 in Mountain Home. Mr. Whitfield was a truck driver for Foremost for over 18 years. He loved horses and rodeos.

Roe Whitfield is survived by 5 daughters: Verna (Bob) Fuller of Norfork, Donna (Bob) Vincent of Mountain Home, Rowena (Dan) Davis of Norfork, Carol (Jim) Cowart of Gassville, and Melissa Cartwright & Haley of Norfork; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Levi & Dean Whitfield, 5 sisters: Oneida Stevens and Wilma Huff, both of Norfork, Bobbie Sanders of Calico Rock, Norma Lee Speaks of MO, and Helen Hathaway of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Galatia Cemetery with Rev. Doug Huskey and Rev. Larry Hoffman officiating. Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
