SPRINGFIELD - Daniel E. Langelier, age 47, passed away on October 31, 2006 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Holyoke on August 5, 1959 and has lived most of his life in Chicopee. He worked for 20 years in the Army Military Police Service before he retired in 1998. Daniel served in Operation Just Cause in Panama during the Army, and also served 2 tours of duty in Korea and 2 tours of duty in Germany. He was later stationed at Westover Air Force Base for the Department of Defense for 2 years and also worked in the Veterans Affairs office in Ludlow. He belongs to the V.F.W. Post 625 in Chicopee and also the D.A..V. in Chicopee. He leaves his parents Donald and Patricia (Peloquin) Langelier of MA; his wife Robin (Nasby) Langelier of Springfield MA; 2 sons Steven and Douglas Braden of Scottsburg IN; 1 daughter Tiffany Langelier of Springfield MA; 1 brother Kenneth Langelier of Denver Colorado; 2 sisters Donna and her husband Norman Deprey of Granby MA and Lisa and her husband Mark DeRoin of Springfield MA. He also leaves 3 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday November 3, 2006 from the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee MA at 12:00 Noon followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 2:00 P.M. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday November 2, 2006 from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or to the Dana Farber Institute.
