Judd Ford of Lawn Precinct, passed away at the home of his nephew Lawrence Ford, on Monday September 20th after a long illness. He was past 83 years of age and had lived in BoxButte County for about 40 years. Since the death of his mother, twelve years ago, for whom he kept up a home, he has made his home with is nephew and family. He was a successful farmer and stock raiser and a man, who was well respected by his neighbors and friends.
He was buried from the Methodist church at Hemingford on Friday after noon at 2:30.

Rev. Fortune, pastor of the church delivered a very appropriate discourse to a large congreation of friends.

Relatives present were Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Ford and family of Lawn precinct; Mrs Florence Galloway, a sister and Mr. Wesley Maitland, a great nephew of Tacoma Washington.

Mr. Ford was a soldier in the Spanish American War, being one of the first to enlist and served the full time of the war. Soldiers of the Spanish American War and the Ladies' Auxiliary of Hemingford and Alliance, attended the services at he church and took charge of the burial exercises at the grave.
