Robert Rudy Burney, 82

ALLIANCE--Former Hemingford resident Robert Rudy Burney died Monday, September 13, 1999, at Castle Manor in Hot Springs, South Dakota. He was 82. He was born February 9, 1917 in Dade County, Missouri to James and Nora (Gresham) Burney. The family moved to Beaver Crossing, Nebraska shortly after his birth and to the Hemingford area when he was 12. He married Ruby Iolene Taylor at Martin, S.D. on September 16 1936. They purchased a farm east of Hemingfor in 1947 and also farmed on Curry Table, near Buffalo Gap, South Dakota since 1970. He also operated a farm implement dealership. He was a member of the Church of Nazarene in Hemingford and was instrumental in building the present church building. After his wife's death he made his home at Curry Table.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 at the Church of the Nazarene in Hemingford. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery.
