On Oct. 15, 1833 at Delhi, NY (by Rev. M. Clark), Elizabeth m. as his 1st wife, Henry Lee Robinson, s. of Hon. Tracy Robinson, MD and Sarah Cleveland. He was b. June 12, 1812 at Binghamton, NY and d. there on Nov. 10, 1901. He was subsequently an officer in the U.S. Army during the Civil War and retired as a breveted Brig. Gen. They had the following four children, the first three b. at Delhi, NY and the last at Binghamton, NY:
• i. Sarah Elizabeth Robinson, b. Apr. 30, 1836, d. Aug. 5, 1886 at New York City, NY.
• ii. Augusta Root Robinson, b. May 2, 1839, d. May 25, 1862; m. Dec. 30, 1857 at Osage, NY, Mason W. Mather.
• iii. Lieut. Col. Erastus Root Robinson, b. June 19, 1843, d. Jan. 16, 1917 at Washington, DC (U.S. Marine Corps., bur. Arlington Nat'l Cem.); m. an unidentified Emma C., who survived him, but is interred elsewhere. He had at least three children, but only one was living in June 1900. Research incomplete.
• iv. Florence Ada Robinson, b. May 15, 1847; m. June 20, 1868 at Binghamton, NY, Eliphalet Nott Gilbesby (sic Gillespie). She may have had a second husband and living at New York City in June 1900 along with her son Hugh Gillespie.
