Bruce H. Ballard was born November 16, 1932 in Draper, Utah and passed away at Alta View Hospital on August 27, 2010.

Bruce was the son of Ross D. Ballard and Ruby Henroid Ballard. Bruce was a cheerleader at Jordan High school and was also the President of the Agriculture Club. Bruce loved to raise animals, working in his yard and garden as was well known for his large watermelon, corn, and cantaloupe.

He loved to fish the Madison River in Montana and also loved to hunt up in American Fork Canyon with his friends and family. Bruce's Dad ran Draper Poultry where Bruce and his brothers worked. He would also feed 3,000 chickens and case eggs every night.

At the end of World War II, his family started Ballard Feed And Eggs where Bruce and his brothers worked. Bruce worked at Kennecott for a short time, plus he was a State Egg Inspector, he worked for a Mink Ranch, and then he went to work for Olson Brothers Egg. Bruce went to work for his brother Dale H. Ballard, running a 150 acre farm. In 1999, he was forced to retire because of his health. In the years 2000 and 2001, he had two major operations after which his health slowly started to decline.

Bruce was married to Laura Ann Greenwood in 1952 and had ten children. They were later divorced and he later remarried ReNae P. Ballard in 1974 and they had one child.

Bruce is survived by his first wife Ann Andreason and their children Bruce Ballard (Shanna), Bev Bonham (Craig), Brian Ballard, Bonnie Kirkpatrick (Allen), Brenda Steadman, Bethy Garrison (Rodger), Betty Joe Tripp, Brad Ballard (Leslie), and Bridget Olsen (Richard), fifty-five grandchildren, and thirty-nine great-grandchildren. Bruce is also survived by his second wife ReNae P. Ballard and their son David Walter Ballard. Bruce was preceded in death by his father Ross D. Ballard, mother Ruby Henroid Ballard, sister Barbara Henroid Ballard Allen, brothers Ross, Garth, Gene, and Dale, daughter Barbara Lynn Thomas, and his grandson Darby Heinz Golub.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Corner Canyon Stake Center, 13400 South 1300 East, Draper. Viewings will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., with an hour viewing held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Church.
