JACK CALVIN BLACKWELL, AGE 81
Passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center. Mr. Blackwell grew up on a farm on Blackwell Road in the Bonner Creek Community of Washington Parish. After graduating Enon High School he began his flying career at the Bogalusa Airport. He flew missions for the U.S. Government throughout Southeast Asia as a pilot for Air America during the Vietnam Conflict. Upon his return, he resided with his family in Slidell and continued his flying career until retiring back to the farm where he was born.

Survived by: 2 Sons: Martin Kemp Blackwell of Franklinton, Bryan Joseph Blackwell of Slidell, 2 Daughters: Ginger Persick, Laurie Veith both of Franklinton, 1 Sister: Huldah Murr of Folsom, 9 Grandchildren 13 great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Mizell Blackwell, a son Jay Calvin Blackwell, a brother Curt Blackwell and 3 sisters Alma Mizell, Velma Fussell and Mamie Blackwell.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home after 9 AM Monday, August 23, 2010 until time of funeral service to be held at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
