Wayne Talkington Rites Sept. 14

Funeral services for Wayne Talkington,
78, of Bedford, were held September 14 at the Bedford Christian Church conducted by Rev. Ivo G. Randels.

Mr. Talkington died at his home in Bedford on September 11. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford.

Wayne Talkington, son of George Henry and Mary Celia [Moran] Talkington, was born on a farm near Sheridan, Mo., December 16, 1890.

He is survived by his wife, Iva; two sisters, Mrs. Lela Fine of Bedford and Mrs. Minnie Richey of Ellsworth, and four brothers, Cecil [Cosmo] of Cheyenne, Wyo., [James] Elmer of San Bernardino, Calif., Roy [Roscoe] of Spokane, Washington, and Donald ["Jack"] of Saginaw, Michigan, 14 nieces and nephews.

Mr. Talkington was united in marriage to Fern Lindley, May 28, 1927, and to this union a son, Carroll Dean, was born, who lived only seven days.

His wife, Fern, passed away July 20, 1932. Also preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and one sister, Ira [Orval] of Bedford, Al [phis Steven] of San Diego, Calif., and an infant brother, Charles and a sister Elsie who also died in infancy.

Mr. Talkington was united in marriage to Mrs. Iva Mae Terry February 17, 1949, and they made their home in Bedford since retiring in 1960.

Wayne was a member of the First Christian church in
Bedford, and will always be remembered as a kind and devoted husband, brother, and uncle. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
