Ricky Lee Wheeler, 52, beloved son, husband, father and grandfather went to be with our Lord Tuesday, January 25, 2005. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 28, 2005, at Riverside Church, 2300 SW 24th Avenue in Norman, with Pastors Jim King and John Stitt officiating. Interment will follow at the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be his three sons, and Drew King, Blair Koonce, and Blake Koonce. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Ricky was born December 19, 1952 in Norman, Oklahoma, to Leroy and Vondell (Suchy) Wheeler. He will be greatly missed, but his family rejoices his reunion with our Father in Heaven. Ricky is the husband of Margaret Wheeler of Mounds, Oklahoma. Together they had three sons, Johnny, Alan and Daniel Wheeler, whose happiness he dedicated his life to. He graduated from Norman High School in 1971, and quickly became a successful entrepreneur of multiple businesses throughout his short life. Ricky had a love for music, traveling, writing poetry, and raising horses with his wife. Above all he had a deep love for his family.
Ricky was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Wheeler and both grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Margaret of the home; three sons, Johnny and wife, Kristal, Alan & Daniel, all of Tulsa, OK; parents, Leroy and Vondell Wheeler, of Norman; sister, Teresa Choate and husband, Roy, of Norman; mother and father-in-law, Rolf and Hilde Effinger of Oklahoma City, OK; and four grandchildren, Joshua, Krysten, Kathryn, and Morgan.
