Frank Hopkirk, son of James and Emma Hopkirk, was born November 8, 1873, at Lockridge, Iowa, and passed away at his home in Ruskin, Nebr. on July 6, 1946, at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 28 days.

He graduated from high school at Fairfield, Iowa, in 1892, coming to Ruskin in 1898 where he was employed in the J.R. Parsons hardware and implement store for eight years and then became manager of the Union Lumber Company yard. This position he held for thirty-seven years, until the company closed out the business. For the last three years he had been with the Scroggin Lumber Co. at Deshler.

On May 20, 1902, he was married to Iva Jones and to this union were born three sons and two daughters.

He was a member of the Woodman and Masonic lodges. He was a Past Master of both the Oak and Ruskin lodges; also a 32nd degree Mason in the Scottish Rite, and had served on the school board and the village board.

He is survived by his widow, five chidren (sic): Mrs. Margaret Kohtz, of Stockton, California; Maurice Hopkirk, Ruskin; Kent Hopkirk, Mrs. Harriett Kallian and Eldon Hopkirk all of San Mateo, Calif.; five grandchildren and an aunt, Mrs. J.R. Parsons of Superior.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Community church (sic) conducted by Rev. Roland Propst of Superior. Mrs. G.H. Wrightsman of Hebron and Mrs. R.M. Grimes of Fairfield sang, accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Krogh at the piano. Masonic services were conducted at the grave in Spring Creek cemetery (sic) with Roy Hunter of Superior in charge. Pallbearers were members of the Masonic lodge.
