Anne W. Lakin , 75 , of 208 S. Park Avenue, died at 5:32 PM Friday,
April 1, in the St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette ….
Mrs. Lakin was born September 27, 1918, in Miami County.. Her
marriage April 4, 1948, in Rensselaer, was to Robert C. Lakin, and
he survives .
She graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1936, and attended the
Lafayette Business College….
Mrs. Lakin formerly worked for her father at the Woodworth Insurance
Agency, and later was a secretary at the Jasper County Auditor's Office and
the Lawyers Title Insurance and Abstract Corporation ….
She was a member of the First Christian Church, and the Christian Women's
Fellowship.. She was also a member of the Evening Chapter, Order of the
Eastern Star, and the Literary Club and Sewing Club in Rensselaer….
Also surviving are four sons, Russell A. Lakin and David D. Lakin, both of
Rensselaer, James R. Lakin of West Lafayette and Stephen R. Lakin of
Carmel ; a daughter, Elizabeth Bacon of Newport News, Virginia ; two
sisters, Mrs. Bill (Naomi) Bergin of Brookville, Indiana and Mrs. Dean
(Evelyn) Carter of Daytona Beach, Florida….
