"O. W. NICHOLSON DIES AT HIS HOME IN ONEIDA
ONEIDA, Jan. 10 - (Special.) - Oscar William Nicholson, 46, life-long resident of the Oneida community, died here Thursday noon in the home of his mother, Mrs. Augusta Nicholson. His death was attributed to heart trouble and dropsy following three months' illness.
Mr. Nicholson formerly followed the trade of painter and paperhanger here but for the last four years he had wworked on the farm of Tom Hobbs, south of town. His father, Ben Nicholson, died last August. His mother, three sisters and two brothers survive.
Funeral services will be held here Saturday at 2 p.m., in the Calkins Funeral home. Interment will be in the Oneida cemetery."

"FUNERAL HELD FOR OSCAR NICHOLSON
ONEIDA, Jan. 14. - (Special.) - Funeral services for Oscar Nicholson, 46, who died at his home in Oneida Jan. 9, following a two months' illness, were held Saturday afternoon at the Calkins' Funeral home. The Rev. W. H. Day officiated.
Mrs. Harold Reynolds and Mrs. Cecil Hedstrom sang, "There Will be an Empty Chair: and "The Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were Lester Stothard, Lewis Goleman, Sam Ericson, Stanley Adams, James Dougan and Charles Corcoran. Interment was in the Oneida cemetery.
Oscar William Nicholson was born in Oneida May 19, 1894. He had lived in or near Oneida all of his life. He did painting and paper-hanging most of his life, and te last five years he had been working on a farm.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Augusta Carlson Nicholson, at Oneida; three sisters, Mrs. Hannah Strawhacker at Oneida, Mrs. Esther Beckman at Wyanet, and Mrs. Hilda Palmateer at LeClaire, Ia., and two brothers, Albin and Harry, both of Oneida.
CARD OF THANKS - We wish to sincerely thank our neighbors and friends, especially the pastor, the pallbearers and singers, for their wonderful kindness to us during the illness and death of our beloved son and brother, Oscar William Nicholson. - Mrs. Augusta Nicholson and children."
