John Paul Arthur, 59, 4649 Rainbow Dr., died Saturday, 1 a.m. at his home after a long illness.

Born March 25, 1905 Saint John, Tooele County, a son of John B. and Harriet Paul Arthur. Married Inez Smith, Nov 6,
1930; Salt Lake City.

Carrpenter for Murray Board of Education. Member Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Active in scouting for 15 years, and scout-master of Murray Third Ward. Director of Utah Central Credit Union; president of Midvale Credit Union.

Survivors: widow, one son, J. Paul, Murray; two daughters, Mrs. Rex (Nadine) Bateman, Bennion, Salt Lake County; Mrs. William (Rita) Chase, Murray; eight grandchildren, one brother and one sister, Glen, Paul, Idaho; Mrs. Lloyd (Edith) Dixon, Monterey Park, Calif.; stepmother, Mrs. John (Mabel) Arthur, Monterey Park, Calif.

Funeral Wednesday noon, Murray Third Ward LDS Chapel, 4600 S. Brown St.,(140 East). Friends call 4760 S. State Tuesday 6-8 p.m., Wednesday prior to service. Burial Murray City Cemetery.
