SHREVEPORT, LA - Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Odessie Martin Frisch, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2010, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with Revered Billy Crosby officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday evening between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Odessie was born on July 3, 1923, to the late Joseph and Doshie Martin and entered into peaceful rest on Thursday, August 12, 2010.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by those who loved her. Mrs. Frisch had been an active member of Summer Grove Baptist Church and in later years, Emmanuel Baptist Church. She thoroughly enjoyed her work with children in the public school system, sharing her love of Jesus Christ, antiquing, gardening, and cooking. But more than all of these, she enjoyed the time spent with family and her grandchildren.

Odessie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Edith Tarver, Esther Sullivan, and Pauline Parker; and brother, Joseph Martin.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 59 years, Ted Frisch; son, Terry Frisch and wife, Vicky; daughter, Theresa Frisch; grandchildren, Matt, Micah, and Marcus Frisch; great-grandchild, Anna Elizabeth Frisch; her "grand-dogs", Mya and T.J. Frisch; and her beloved dog, Macy.

Honoring Mrs. Frisch as pallbearers will be Michael Martin, Randy Martin, Matt Frisch, Marcus Frisch, Charlie Williams, and Rick Neidhamer.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 910 Pierremont Rd., Shreveport, LA 71106, or to the charity of choice.
