Funeral services for Samuel Harrison Owens, 72, who died at the Columbia Hospital Thursday morning from injuries received when he was struck by a truck at the Columbia Airport, were conducted at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon from Dunbar Funeral Home. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr. Owens was a former supervisor of Richland County and a brother of Mayor L. B. Owens. He was employed as superintendent of the WPA paving project at the airport at the time of the accident. Mr. Owens was knocked down and run over by a backing truck loaded with asphalt paving material. Mr. Owens was first elected county supervisor in 1868, taking office in 1899. In all he served as supervisor for five terms, a total of 12 years. An inquest into his death will be conducted at 7 o'clock Monday night at the county courthouse. Active pallbearers serving at the funeral were: Dr. Clarence E. Owens, Dr. Frank C. Owens, Ephriam S.
