Actor. He was born in Kovno, Poland (Russian Empire) [Now Kaunus, Lithuania]. After immigration, he found a job in a theater in Syracuse, NY. It was managed by the Shuberts, with whom he was distantly related. This led to a career as a dancer in vaudeville, and then to Hollywood, to dance in a 1920 Lon Chaney film. He was in at least 21 films between 1920 and 1936. He starred in silent features including "Jake the Plumber" (1927), "Rose of the Tenements" (1926), and "Around the Corner"(1930). Other film appearances were in James Cagney's "Taxi"(1932), "Ma's Pride and Joy"(1932),and "Wine, Women and Song"(1933). He may be best known for his role of "O'Brien" the booking agent, in the Three Stooges short "A Pain in the Pullman"(1936). Jesse was in the U.S. Navy, and a veteran of World War I and II. At the time of his death, Jesse Devorska was the oldest, living Three Stooges supporting player.
