Nancy and James had seven children. Ida Mae [Hardy], Bertha Emma[Selement], John Harrison, Charles Estel, Nancy Oma [Moore], Lois [Locke] and James Harvey Baugher.
-------
She hunted a fished with her older brother John growing up, and fished almost every afternoon for a couple of hours after her children were grown, until the last year of her life.
She came to CA twice, from Missouri, in a covered wagon at ages 10 and 14 with her Dad delivering items. She said she walked most of the way. Kids would play games along the way, and if they got tired they would ride a while, then join the games, again.
She was very quick witted and had good sense, but never wanted to learn to read or write, except her name. Some believed she might have thought it would interfere with her second sight.
She loved to tell fortunes by coffee or tea grounds after the supper meal ended. She believed in God, and in the Golden Rule, and minding your own business.
She was a red-haired Irish woman that few people ever tried to cross, and never a 2nd time, and especially do not mess with her family!
