The death of Mrs. Anna Sauer, wife of Peter Sauer, of Cook, and a sister of Henry Schmidt, of this city, occurred on Tuesday. The deceased passed away after a long illness with cancer. Mrs. Sauer was 71 years of age, being born August 21, 1855, and was a life long resident of Lake county.
She was the mother of seven children, two by her first marriage, Matthew Klein, of Montana, and Wilhelm Klein, of Flint, Michigan. Her husband and five children survive her also of the second marriage. The children are John, Peter, Henry and Michael of Cook, and Mrs. Susan Stark, residing in Wisconsin.

Mrs. Sauer was beloved and highly respected in the community, her ideal traits of womanhood endearing her with whom she came in contact, and her passing is mourned by a wide circle of friends.

The funeral services were held on Friday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Martin church at Cook, the burial taking place in the Cook cemetery.
