Parents were Samuel Victor Pierce Sr. and his mother was Anna Katherine Blum Pierce Cesko (1905-1991). Samuel Victor Pierce was born in a area that no longer exists called West Portal, Colorado. The area around there is now known as Winter Park, Colorado.

Junior as he was called, had four sisters, two deceased; Shirley Marie (1930-1931), Frances Bird (1927-2004). Two living sisters, and three half brothers Albert Duke (1949-1999) burial in the plot next to Junior. and a living Cesko (Living), Joseph Victor (1936-1990), and a half sister Judy Grace Menks (1944-2002).

As an adult he followed in the footsteps of his father and for the most part was a truck driver who performed long hauls.

He died in an tragic accident at age 45. He was clearing a field for his father and it is unknown for sure what happened but it appears that the catapiller he was driving may have hit a rock or other obstruction. The catapiller apparentely jerked causing him to be thrown over the front of the catapiller and into its path so that it ran straight over him.

He left behind two daughters by his first wife - Lena Hixon, - One son by Anita Gregg, and one daughter- and one son - by his wife Ora Butler. At the time of his death - he and his present wife Joanna (who's name is on the headstone with him) had no children.
