William Gilbert Robeson passed away at the age of 85 years Friday morning at 7 o'clock, May 31, 1940, at his home near Prairie Point, after an illness of about six months.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church at Rosston with Elder John Raymond of Dye Mound and Rev. C. A. Buchanan of Gainesville officiating. Interment was in the Rosston Cemetery arranged by Scott Bros.

Pallbearers were Charles Meyer, Paul Matthews, Roy Pattman, Millard Engram, and J.D. Covington, all grandsons of the deceased. Flower girls were Odean Harris, Irene McDavid, Doris Eakes, Pauline Howell, Cornez Robeson, Geneva Meyer, Margaret Nell Taylor, Coleen Hill, Jackie Matthews, Leona Robeson, and Levena Robeson.

Survivors are his wife, Flora Robeson, nine children, Mrs. Georgia Matthews of Era, Rock of Terrell, Texas, Roy of Gainesville, Jack of Forestburg, Mrs. Oma Howell of Walters, Okla, Mrs Kate Harris of Forestburg, Mrs. Burnie Hill of Forestburg, Mrs Ema Pattman of Elk City, Okla, and Mrs Ellen Eakes of Verden, Okla, fifty grandchildren and forty-six great grandchildren.
