W.F. Brignac, resident of Central and a native of French Settlement, died at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at the age of 83. He was a retired operator who worked for Ethyl Corp. for 35 years. He was also a U.S. Navy World War II veteran who participated in the invasion of Iwo Jima.

Arrangements entrusted to Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Bass Brignac, of Central; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Jon Hill, of Cleburne, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Paula Brignac, of Central; and four grandchildren, Leigh Smith, Laurie Hill and Katie and Kodi Brignac.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Anita Brignac; and a sister, Anita Corine Brignac.

He was a lifetime member of Trinity Masonic Lodge.
