THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 22 Jun 1989. ‘Ethel Weikel, 81, 1855 Bella Vista, died Wednesday, 21 Jun 1989, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Services were held Thursday, 22 Jun, at 10 a.m. in Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Cannon officiating. Burial was in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mrs. Weikel was born 16 Dec 1907, in Arkansas, a daughter of Lewis and Sarah Hogan Smith. She married Robert Weikel on 15 Nov 1925, in Paris. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was retired from Cannon Printing Co. Surviving are her husband; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Edwin Stephens of Plano; one grandson, David Stephens of Wylie; and two great grandchildren.’
