He joined the U.S. Navy in 1950, and served as a Medic in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. After being discharged from the service, he completed his college education at Fresno State College in 1959.
He married Barbara Katzakian on August 31, 1957. They had two sons.
He was employed by The California Courier, serving in all capacities of the newspaper. In March 1961, he was employed by The Fresno Bee as a salesman in the Classified Advertising Department. He was transferred to Retail Advertising, becoming a Supervisor, then to National Advertising and retired in 1993 as the National Advertising Manager.
Vahe went to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2010 in Fresno, CA.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 52 years; two sons and their wives; twin grandsons, a granddaughter, a step-grandson, a step-granddaughter; two sisters and a brother-in-law; nieces, nephews, grandchildren, godsons, a goddaughter, and cousins.
A Graveside Service was held at Ararat Cemetary, followed by a Memorial Service at Pilgrim Armenian Congregational Church on Saturday, August 14, 2010.
