Billy Joe McKenzie, 83, of Wurtland, Ky., formerly of Catlettsburg, passed away Friday morning, August 27, 2010, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
He was born February 28, 1927, in Catlettsburg, Ky., a son of the late Jack and Ida Clark McKenzie.
Bill was a laborer with Union Concrete, loved to fish and was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester McKenzie & Elmer McKenzie, and a sister, Mary Prater.
Surviving are Bill's brothers, Walter McKenzie (Geraldine) of Catlettsburg, Andrew McKenzie (Lydia) of Logan, WV., and Emzie McKenzie of Flatwoods, Ky., and a sister, Fannie Damron of Catlettsburg.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Ron Evans will bring a message of inspiration. Mr. McKenzie will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery.
