KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY AS A HOUSTON POLICE OFFICER
He was working as a Houston Policeman in his off time helping to clean up the drug dealers in this southwest area of the city. His partner that he was working with was also shot but he survived his wounds. Some drug dealers that Alberto and his partner were questioning pulled a pistol and shot Alberto and then shot his partner. They were caught and are in prison now for this dastardly deed. Alberto gave his life that we may live.

ALBERTO LAID DOWN HIS LIFE FOR THE CITIZENS OF HOUSTON.
HE DESERVES TO BE CALLED A "HERO".
Alberto was born in Laredo, Texas April 16, 1969. He moved with his family to Houston. He leaves a loving wife Patricia and two sons Andrew and Carlos Alberto Vasquez. His father Jaun J. Vasquez, his mother Ira Mae Becker, step-mother, Anna Maria Vasquez. His step-father, Gerald S. Becker. His sister Valerie and her husband Richard Lazaro and relatives and a host of friend.
A visitation was held in evening of Thursday, May 24, 2001. A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. His funeral mass was held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church, 10503 Westheimer. Houston Police Chaplin Edwin A. Davis officiating with Father Mario Arroyo. Earthman Funeral Home handled the service. Hundreds of law enforcement officers from Texas attended the service.
Alberto was a Great American.
