Barney Jarvis Obit

Barney Word Jarvis Jr. was born March 24, 1919, to Barney Word Jarvis Sr. and Libby Lucinda Griffith in Terrell, Texas. He died Oct. 22, 2003.

He married Barbara England in 1939 and they had one daughter, Rebecca Diane Jarvis. They all preceded him in death.
Jarvis served in the U.S. Navy as a naval aviator and instructor. He flew during and after the war and instructed many to fly. After the war, he was in the furniture business with his uncle and father.

Barney is survived by his wife Lou Jarvis; her children, Lou Ann Clark and husband Jimmy; David Brown and wife Carol; grandsons, Chris Clark and wife Brett Emmerson; Phillip Brown and wife Crystal; the England family and many friends, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were Oct. 24, 2003, in the David Clayton Funeral Home chapel. Honorary pallbearers were George Switzer, Ben Roberson, Johnny Corley, Jack Woodrum, Maurice Tunnell and Davis Griffith-Cox.
