May 1991: Rick Brenizer, 35; Ruth Berentson, 31; her children, Heidi, 10, and Mindy, 7; and her child with Rick Brenizer, Crystal, 5, were shot with a deer rifle. Their bodies were placed in the family station wagon which was set afire in a wooded area near Balsam Lake in Polk County. Bruce Brenizer, son of Rick Brenizer, was charged as an adult and sentenced to life in prison for the five deaths.
