MORRIS — Mrs. Clyde (Charlotte I.) Benson Mason, 90, Morris, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, Aug. 26, at Morris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center with her loving family by her side.

She was born April 23, 1920, in Nettle Creek Township, Grundy County, the daughter of Joseph and Violet Jackson Hall.

She received her elementary education at Dix School in Nettle Creek Township and graduated from Morris High School with the Class of 1938.

She married Floyd E. Benson on Sept. 14, 1941, at Stavanger Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1968. She married Clyde F. Mason on Feb. 17, 1985, at Stavanger Lutheran Church.

She was employed with the Morris Paper Mill and then with the Grundy County Circuit Clerk's office for more than 10 years, retiring in 1986.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking and traveling with her husband to Florida in the winter time. She was a league bowler at Echo Lanes in Morris, tended to her flower gardens and looked forward to those times spent with the family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

She was a lifetime member of Stavanger Lutheran Church.

Surviving is her loving husband of more than 25 years, Clyde of rural Morris; one daughter, Cheryle (Greg) Larson of Morris; three grandsons, Chad (Jackie) Larson of Diamond, Ill., Eric Larson of Morris and A. J. Larson of Tempe, Ariz.; one great-granddaughter, Sydney; stepdaughter, Carolyn Mason of Cornelia, Ga.; six stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Clifford (Eunice) Hall of Morris; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Brad Larson on April 27, 2008; one sister, Vera Hausken; and one nephew, Brian Hausken.

Friends may call Sunday, Aug. 29, from 2 to 5 p.m. at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home, 301 W. Washington St., Morris. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Aug. 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Stavanger Lutheran Church, 2904 N. 32nd Road, Seneca, with the Rev. Philip Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Stavanger Cemetery.
