She was born November 17, 1919, in Delta, a daughter of Wilford Leroy and Ada Blaylock Allred. She married Edward Wardell in March 1943 in Vancouver (divorced) and later married Claire Whitney in 1952 in Evanston (divorced).
"Cleo" received her education in Portland, Ore., and also attended business school in Portland. She was employed at Montgomery Ward in Portland and also worked several years for Union Pacific in Sun Valley, Idaho.
She moved to the Provo-Orem area in 1950, was a member of the LDS Church and enjoyed such hobbies as swimming and dancing.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Ray Wardell, Salt Lake City; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Roberta Sorensen, Provo.
Graveside service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Orem City Cemetery, 1500 N. 800 E., Orem. Friends may call Wednesday at Berg Mortuary of Orem, 500 N. State, 9:45-10:45 a.m.
