Ashley C. Curry, 72, was electrocuted yesterday afternoon at his residence, West Vine street, while cleaning out the furnace. Curry's body was found by his wife. He had spent the morning in the basement working on the furnace, using an extension light to aid him in his work. It is believed that the light became short circuited, permitting a current to pass through Curry's body.
Mr. Curry was a painter by trade and a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Curry; one daughter, Mrs. Maude Roberts; one son, Rex F. Curry of Muskogee, Okla. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Belle Hackney, Parsons, Kan., and Mrs. Eva Phillips, Bruceville, Ind., and two grandsons, Lester Roberts and James Curry. -IL State Journal, Springfield, IL, 9-21-1926
