Arizona Litton Marcum,
80, of the Marcum Road community, passed away Sunday morning, December 12, at the Scott County Hospital following a lingering illness. She was the daughter of the late Marion Litton and the late Martha Stanley Litton and was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. George Dewey Marcum; and three brothers: Elmer Litton, Lawrence Litton, and Willard Litton. She was a member of the Pine Creek United Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Marcum is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Witmer (Lucille) Posey of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Paul L. (Kathleen) Foster of Dayton, O., and Mrs. John I. (Rose Lee) Long of Oneida; one son, Elmer Marcum of Oneida; a grandson that Mrs. Marcum raised, Witmer Lee Posey of Knoxville; four sisters: Mrs. Rosetta Thomas, Mrs. Lonnie (Delcie) Marcum, Mrs. Lidge (Charity) King, and Mrs. Laura Posey, all of Oneida; one brother, Ova Litton of Indianapolis, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, at the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bates Pennycuff and Rev. James E. Marcum officiating. The Davis Quartet sang. Burial followed in the Phillips and Long Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
