Mitchell Dixon, 70, of 21706 Jack Fork Garner Road, Rush, husband of Juanita McGlothlin Dixon, died Thursday in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Mr. Dixon was born October 31, 1919, in Boyd Country, a son of Robinette Dixon. He was a pipefitter for construction companies and a farmer. He was a member of the Burnaugh BVaptist Church; Greenhills Masonic Lodge 521; the El Has Temple in Ashland; Ashland Commandery 28; Royal Arch Masons 81; Everett Council 65; Catlettsburg Elks Lodge 942; American Legion Post 93 in Kenova; and the pipefitters Local 248. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.
Additional survivors include a son, Michael Dixon of Rush; a daughter, Mard Ed (Sandy) Childers of Rush; a brother, Warren E Dixon of Slippery Rock, PA; two sisters, Anna Lorence Dixon of Catlettsburg and Gladys Hurts of Allison Park, PA; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg by edgar "Pete" Miller, minister. Burial will be in the Ross Cemetery, Rush.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
