Charlotte G. "Lottie" (Jenkins) (Tosto) Curtin, died peacefully at age 91 on August 23, 2008. The daughter of Charlotte G. Taylor and Charles "Pop" Jenkins, she was born in Somerville, MA. on January 27, 1917, one of eight siblings, sisters Sadie and Marion and brothers, Richard, Robert, William, Charles and Gerald. She was married to the late Samuel Tosto and together they had three children. She was later married to Daniel Curtin, moving to Iron Wheel Park, an adult community in Danville, NH.

Lottie was a member of the East Hampstead Union Church. She was active in the church as well as Iron Wheel community activities. She was a member of the Rainbow Fish and Game Club of Gilmanton Iron Works, NH and considered them her extended family.

Independent into her 90's, Lottie could still finish a crossword puzzle, beat anyone at Scrabble and loved to sing all the songs of her era. Lottie wrote hundreds of poems and rhymes about her travels, her life and the people she loved. She enjoyed riding her little red scooter around the park, hosting Bingo games at her home and was an avid Red Sox fan. As a community service, Lottie crocheted 800 pairs of mittens for school children around the Danville area. She knew the most important task in life was to be happy and never dwelt on her past ills.

Surviving relatives are her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Anna Tosto of Windham, NH, and her daughters, Patricia McKinnon of Nottingham, NH, and Charlotte Jacobs of Ukiah, CA, her brother Charles E. Jenkins of Old Orchard Beach, ME, three grandchildren, Liana, Thomas and Cynthia, five great-grandchildren, Garrett, Jeremy, Cassandra, Samantha and Rachel, step-children, Richard Curtin of Massachusetts, Susan Ryder of Maine, and Daniel Curtin of New Hampshire.

Relatives and friends were invited to attend her funeral service held on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at 3:30 p.m. at the East Hampstead Union Church, 225-229 East Main St., East Hampstead, NH. Calling hours took place at the church on Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. A reception followed the service immediately in the church hall with a private family burial service held in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the East Hampstead Union Church, P.O.Box 109, East Hampstead, NH. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.
