Funeral services for Stella Ables Martin, 79, of Yazoo City, MS, were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Southern Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington, MS.
Mrs. Martin died at her home on Saturday, April 24, 2010 as a result of injuries sustained in a tornado.
She was born on March 30, 1931 in Yazoo County to Otha B. Ables and Mildred Malone. She was a housewife and a member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband, C. Mills Martin of Yazoo City; one daughter, Kathy Chisolm of Lexington; three brothers, Harris Ables and Bobby Ables, both of Benton, MS, and Phillip Ables of Clinton, MS; two sisters, Grace Coker of Benton and Becky Edwards of Houston, TX; two granddaughters, Jessica C. Hood and Jennifer Truitt (Chris); and three great grandchildren, Lizzie and Mason Hood and Christyn Truitt.
