After being in poor health for many years, Paul Burkhardt of Palmer died Friday evening, July 21 in the hospital in St. Paul where he had been taken a week earlier. He attained the age of 79 years, 7 months and 2 days.

Here he met Martha Hildegard Heinzing. They were married on December 25, 1908 in Lincoln County, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with nine children.

Several years later he returned to Nebraka and settled on a farm west of Palmer where he lived until 13 years ago when he retired and moved into Palmer. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. He became a member of St. John's January 8, 1911.
